What is Silinmedi.?
Silinmedi. is an independent digital archive and publishing project operated from New York. It is not a separate company or legal entity.
Silinmedi. aims to preserve, document and make accessible journalistic content of public interest, access-blocking and takedown decisions, and related archival records.
Nature of the archive
The existence of a record on Silinmedi. does not mean that any claim, opinion or statement contained in the original news item or document is adopted or confirmed by Silinmedi.
Where possible:
- the original publication
- the access-blocking or takedown decision
- source documents
- editorial notes added by Silinmedi.
are clearly separated from one another.
Records may be updated when new information, decisions or documents emerge.
Content submissions
Users, journalists, publishing outlets and other rights holders may submit news items, documents and archival material to Silinmedi.
Submitted content is not automatically published.
Silinmedi. reserves the right to review, verify, edit, classify, publish or decline to publish submissions.
Publication permission
A person or institution who submits content for republication represents that:
- they are authorized to submit the content
- they hold the necessary publication and usage rights
- they are authorized to grant Silinmedi. permission to archive and republish the content

The submitter grants Silinmedi. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, reproduce, change the technical format of, publish, display and make accessible via the internet the material sent to Silinmedi. for public archival and publication purposes.
This permission does not transfer copyright or ownership of the content to Silinmedi.
Third-party material
Holding the publication right to a news text may not mean holding the rights to all photographs, videos, illustrations, agency material or other third-party content used in the news item.
The submitting person or institution is responsible for clearly identifying third-party material included in the submission and for holding the rights or permissions necessary for its use.
Silinmedi. reserves the right, when deemed necessary, not to publish, to remove, or to present third-party images or other material in a different form.
Prohibited submissions
The following must not be submitted to Silinmedi.:
- private account information obtained without authorization
- passwords
- malicious software
- unnecessary private information that endangers personal safety
- sensitive personal information for which there is no clear public or archival justification for publication

Silinmedi. strives to keep archive records as accurate and up to date as possible.
However, archive records may change over time and no record should be regarded as legal, financial or professional advice.

Availability
